Between now and February 22nd, my favorite charity thrift store, Shop Housing Works, will be offering 25% off all non-auction items. If you happen to live in the New York Area, look at their furniture offerings, they are amazing! Unfortunately, they do not ship these items, so those sales are limited to New Yorkers or those in the greater New York metropolitan area.
Today, in browsing through, I was lucky enough to find this fabulous Alexander Julian military style ultra suede trench. Vogue Magazine recently chose the double breasted military style jacket as the go-to item for one's winter wardrobe. One could do no better than this lovely coat:
A classic three quarters length trench, this double breasted jacket is a lovely deep chocolate brown color and is accented by aged brass buttons across the front and at the cuffs of the full length sleeves. The collar is cut at a classic notched angle, and would look smashing turned up just a bit against the wind.
The jacket is in lovely vintage condition, showing only some slight scuffs and minor color variation which I feel adds to rather than detracts from the garment's charm. The perfect accompaniment to any outfit, from the After 5 Little Black Dress to a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt.
The coat was made for Alexander Julian's exclusive Private Reserve Line.
The fabric content and size label are missing, but I would estimate the size of the garment to be a six-eight in women's sizes. As always, you are encouraged to read the measurements of the garment at the website before taking the plunge.
And just to assure you that while they'll hate to see you leave, they'll love to watch you go...
You can see how well the tailoring of the garment fits the body and presents a pleasing shape from behind. A classic garment that will give you decades of pleasure, this coat is available in the next few days for only $41.25. An absolute steal for a genuine Alexander Julian coat!
My darlings, I wish you all happy shopping!
