Oh my goodness. We left off on the fine brushed faux suede jacket. So where to next?
This lovely old stock Leslie Fay Suit is a rare find.
Found on eBay, this 50's suit is in pristine condition. Though unlined, neither are there tears, holes, worn spots, stains, nor odors. The jacket secures with cloth covered buttons and the sides are decorated with rhinestones.
The skirt has a 26" waist and secures at the top with a clear plastic button and a metal zipper.
Currently offered for auction by Marie92001 for a Buy It Now Price of $199.99.
This vintage 80's bolero jacket is made of a fine black and gold print. From Betsey Johnson's punk collection, this jacket comes from a home where fine and vintage garments are treasured and treated gently and with with great respect.
Put up for auction on eBay by pinupdresses for a Buy It Price of $99.99.
My heart skipped a beat when I found this rare Alice Caviness Czech crystal necklace and matching earrings on eBay.
Made of five draping strands of vitrail mat Swarovski beads, this necklace's vitriol coating makes these beads reflect all the colors of the rainbow from merlot red to peacock blue. The perfect accompaniment to almost any low cut outfit, this necklace is offered for auction by Flipping_Treasures for an opening bid of $325.00.
This amazing batiste floral tea dress is from the 1920's to 1930's. Found at Tias antique mall at Vintage Dress and costume. The floral batiste or chiffon is covered in violet hydrageas and large cabbage roses. The shawl neckline forms a deep "V" under which there is an ivory lace modest panel. The body of the dress is cut on the bias below which is the asymmetrical fluttering hemline. I was unable to locate a price for this lovely garment. Forgive me for tempting you to love that which may be unattainable.
This 50's skirt style bathing suit just knocked my eyes out when I found it at Ballyhoo Vintage. A vintage Rose Marie Reid of California suit, this suit has a boned bodice for that hour glass figure and is made of a glamorous rayon satin. The halter top ties at the back of the neck and the body secures with hooks and a metal zipper in the back. Offered for $165.00 for the bathing bombshell.
Finding a reasonably priced Chanel suit is the Holy Grail of the Vintage Clothing Hunters life. And I found one! From Archive Vintage:
This lovely suit is everything one would expect from a vintage Chanel, at least that is, after Madamoiselle Chanel herself passed. The lovely gold buttons immediately identify it as a Chanel to even the most casual of observers.
(Though it is unusual for her to use a button that doesn't have the two C's, or a lion's head). The suit is made of white cotton with grossgrain black trim. And beyond a few marks on the waist of the skirt (which will be hidden anyway), the suit is in excellent condition.
The sleeve cuff's turn back in a sporty sort of fashion:
And I'm including the label to assure you this is a genuine Chanel.
This stunning black party dress from the 1940's is offered for auction on eBay by Marie92001. Unlined and made of black crepe, this dress' single flaw is that it's missing it's original belt, something easily remedied for a black dress. The dress closes with a side metal zipper which is still in fine working order. Part of the collection of a very large old theatre company, this dress formed part of the stock they were liquidating. Offered at the Buy It Now Price of $149.99, the buyer is also accepting offers, so shoot the moon.
Finally today, I leave you with a stunning lace 1920's, 1930's "Illusion" dress.
Isn't that lovely? I'm so pleased the dress never lost it's jacket, as I believe the jacket is at least half of the charm. The dress is displayed with a white satin slip which is not included in the auction. Personally, I believe a black slip dress, or perhaps - if you're feeling daring - a nude slip dress, would be preferable. There are several teeny tiny tears in the lace, but frankly who cares? A dress of this age should have some character! I would suggest wearing the pearls ala' Chanel, with them draping as far back in the back as they do the front. A perfect party dress if I ever saw one, this one is currently priced at 42.99 with only 5 hours left at auction (Oh! I wish I had gotten this out last night!) Offered by one of my favorite sellers, RedHouseVintage. Someone is going to get a real bargain today.
And that darlings, finally brings me back up to date from my vacation. Hurry, Hurry, to bid on the dress above, and as always, I wish you...
Happy Shopping,
Second Hand Roze
